With respect to daleyplanet's observation Toyota is ripping off Taco owners by offering more than "depressed" pricing, I have to disagree. I understand what he is saying - but I have no idea if the Kelly Blue Book on my Tacoma was more in Spring, 2007 than Spring, 2008. This complaint is in regards to a defective frame on my 2001 Toyota Tacoma pick-up that was purchased used in February of 2007 with 102,000 miles. A NYS inspection was performed upon purchase. I have a 2007 Toyta Tacoma 2 wheel drive, 4 cylinder, automatic that is getting 16.5 mpg city, and 20.5 mpg highway @ 65 mph. It has 6600 miles. I checked the computer and it was found to be running fine. The rear gear is 3.58 like it is supposed to be. The truck is supposed to get 21 mpg city and 28 mpg highway. As above, I use 87 octane, try to use Texaco or Chevron but use a lot of Shell too. Rarely ever use "Off Brands" as they do not have the cleaning additives that the name brands do and in my exp. are not as good in MPG either. My advice to anyone looking to puirchase a Truck is to get the Tacoma over the Tundra due to the MPG and it is one sweet truck! More power than GM's 4.3L ... Read More...

I noticed that the air conditioner tends to cycle from mildly cold to very cold about every 10 to 20 seconds, no matter what speed the air conditioner is on or whether or not the recirculation button is on. Sorry to seem so negative, but I guess seeing "behind the scenes" for so many years, Toyota left a bad taste. Things like the way they advertise a Tacoma in mud and then seeing the Toyota guy in a suit at my dealership tell a customer of a 2007 TRD "OFF ROAD" truck that his transfer case will not be covered under warranty because his truck was covered with mud. I, too, have had this problem with my 1998. Unfortunately I had to trade it in in Sept.2007, could not drive it at all, frame was gone. Has anyone heard of any compensation in this circumstance. I have paperwork from the dealer stating it was unrepairable. Thanks Read More...
