Toyota RAV4 Throttle Lag

Has anyone had transmission hesitation problems with the Toyota RAV4 2007?

My RAV4 2007 actually kicks out of gear on deceleration/re-acceleration, for stoplights, tight turns and heavy stop and go traffic situations. It revs up to about 2000 rpm before it engages when I accelerate to proceed. This is a 1-3 second hesitation that I am told is normal for these vehicles...something about a bypass? It seems that each dealership adds its own items to the new vehicles, in order to bump up the sticker price (which = greater profits). I just purchased a leftover 4-cyl. 2007 ltd, fully loaded (leather heated seats and all) for $25,600. The Toyota.com webpage suggests MSRP as $27000 for the RAV4/year:08/V6/2WD/3.5L/black/LIMITED/without Navi. But when I requested a quoto from Online retailers, they call for nearly $30000. Subaru did a comparison of AWD in 2006 and 2007, and the CRV's system, which has not changed much since then, was very weak at handling bad traction situations. I've had the same lcd distortion problem (2007 RAV4 V^ Sport $ whhel drive, 12k miles). I've had the dealer replace the stereo (d disc chnager non JBL) 3 times to get this right. All replacements developed same problem quickly ecxept for the most recent. Its been good for 5 months or so. Negotiated additional next oil chnage for free for my hassle as well. The casue ... Wow, Sorry to hear about your negative toyota experience. My Matrix still has the original breaks with 70 K miles on it! Only complaint is that there is a strange wind up sound from the engine compartment, sounds like a sport bike that is far away, I don't think it's serious. I don't think they offered this when I purchased my Rav 4, I will tell you I don't think I would buy another Toyota product. I have 27,000 miles and need new brakes (mostly highway miles) Also it feels as though the trans is starting to slip when I go around corners. I expected more from my 2007 Rav 4. While it may be sporty the CX7 has a HUGE drawback.... Fuel Economy and the requirement to use Premium. In addition even though it's bigger in dimensions the use of the interior space is a waste. As to cost, with the same equipment ( Navi, leather/heated seats, sunroof, gauges, 440 wt JBL w/Bluetooth, wheels ) and better Fuel Economy and more room inside the RAV ... Read More...
