Prius and filling the tank

Bye ... bye ... Prius ... no more hybrids for me!

:lemon: My 2008 Toyota Prius has had challenges with both filling the "tank" and calculating mileage since I purchased the car. I have never expected the car's average mileage to be dead on, but close would be nice. I certainly never expected not to be able to fill up my gas tand wither. I just got back from another lengthly road trip. In the summer, I still have challenges ... Read More...

Help me understand the value of the hybrid.

Re: Help me understand the value of the hybrid. [kenlw]

As an engineer who has set warranty on numerous products, I will tell you that the 100k figure was carefully calculated by Toyota to be a bit shy of where they will start losing a lot of $$ to warranty replacement batteries. That number also tells me that most folks should get 100k easily without any problem. After that, Toyota wants no part of them. And in most cases, ... Read More...

What to expect from the next model year Prius

Re: 2009 Prius arrives August 2008, 2010 Prius April ... [skeptical]

That would have been my guess as well but my dealership friend made some calls and was told that the 2009 they wanted to come with was not ready for fall of 08 but they felt it would be in April to summer in US and so would come out as the 1st of the 2010 models. I don't know anything for sure but he's still sticking to this scenario. I'm on the unofficial list for a 2010 now ... Read More...

Toyota Prius MPG-Real World Numbers

Re: Toyota Prius Owners: MPG-Real World Numbers [KarenS]

When I use any brand of gasoline with Ethanol in my 2008 Prius with 8000 miles, the mileage decreases to about 37 mpg. With non-Ethanol fuel I average between 48 to 52 mgg. Is anyone aware of any fuel that does not come from the Middle East that does not contain Ethanol? Read More...

Waiting for the Gen3, 2010 Prius....

Waiting for the Gen3, 2010 Prius....

The 2009's are just around the corner ( with no changes from the 2008s ) and people are already placing advance orders already for the first Gen3s which should arrive next summer. Toyota seems to be leaking bits and pieces of info all over the auto world with hints of this or that. The most comprehensive and seemingly accurate repoort has been the Auto Observer report ... Toyota Prius Lease Questions

2008 Prius Lease - Fair?

Hi, I'm looking to lease a 2008 Prius Pkg 2 in SoCal. They offered $356 (+tax)/month for 36 months. 12K a year mileage and $640 drive-off. Is this fair? If not, how do I negotiate a better deal? I asked about a monthly payment of $336 (+tax) and sales person said -"not possible" I'm going in tomorrow as I've only dealt with this sales person via email/phone. I haven't ... Read More...

Remote keyless entry volume

Any one know how to turn up the volume on my 2008 Toyota Prius when locking the doors when I press the keyless entry. I can barely hear it? Also if I have numbers in my phone address book with the persons name, when they call me in the car and the audio shows incoming call, does anyone know why the name does not appear on the screen? Article Comments - 2008 Honda Fit vs. 2008 Toyota Prius

Did anyone mention

Did anyone mention that the Fit is extremely fun to drive?.. I haven't driven a prius but knowing toyota I can assume it probably rides like a boat. And as for fuel economy, it really depends on how you drive it. My gf who owns the Fit Sport (auto) has never gotten under 29mpg, ever.. It varies though, as i hear some people get 25 city which is understandable. If you're ... Read More...
