Re: Suggestions on headlight control issues [kjt]

The 2009 DRL control module is located in a different place from the previous years. It's behind the glove box, much easier to get to and work on. Just remove the glove box completely to make it easy. There are 3 white plugins behind the glove box, the bigger and farther to the right is the DRL plugin. The #12 pin that you're looking for is located directly under 2 bigger ... Read More...

Toyota Matrix Lease Questions

2009 Matrix S AWD 36mo/12K lease numbers

I just leased a 2009 Matrix S today (10/31/08). 36mo/12K per year. This was from Walser Toyota-a pretty well-known 'fixed price/no negotiation' dealership chain here in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Here is how the car is equipped: 2009 Toyota Matrix S 4dr Hatchback AWD (2.4L 4cyl 4A) MSRP / Invoice Base Price 20,400 (Edmunds has base price $100 higher) SR ... Read More...

All-New 2009 Toyota Matrix

Re: 2009 Matrix noisier than previous? [mantech]

I have read about noise issues on the new Matrix. One spot is the new roof antena, which supposedly Toyota is addressing. I checked Matrix forums and there is not TSB for any noise coming from doors. This issue has me a bit concerned since I'm looking to buy one soon. Read More...

Auto-dimming mirror

Hello Matrixgirl09, I just bought and installed Toyota Auto-Dimming Mirror. I send you a link to a Toyota Dealer that sells 2009 Toyota Matrix accessories ( I do not work for them, but prices are much lower). http://www.primepartssuperstore.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=74_179_315 Good Luck! Disappointed so far

I saw the 2009 Matrix on television (Motorweek). The new styling is nice but I still like the original design, too. I have a 2003 XR with automatic. I'm not liking what I'm reading about the 2009 Matrix, though. I'm not happy about the decreased fuel economy with the mid-range model due to the 2.4L engine. Apparently, the new model is heavier, too, which I consider ... Read More...

Re: 2009 Matrix MPGs (2.4L engines only!) [musicmanmu]

MSN is running aa story right now that compares cost/mpg for a number of cars in the Matrix's class (Fit, Versa, Xd etc.) The Matix is not even listed - I guess because of the FE hit the 2.4 is. The 1.8 engined Base version as well as earlier models would fare quite well in this type of comparison - begging the question why would Toyota make the larger engine standard ... Read More...

Matrix Transmission Problems

Re: toyota matrix transmission failure court hearing [canonlaw]

Hello, I have a general question: Is this still a problem on the 2009 XRS with a 5 speed auto as I was just about to purchase this car but now I am verrrrry worried. any info would be helpful Read More...

Re: toyota matrix transmission failure court hearing [gmore]

The bearing on the fifth gear is failing and will keep failing. The transmission code on the 5sp is C59. Check inside of the drivers door where it tells the date your car was made. C59 refers to the transmission used in the car. And by the way it is the same transmission code used from 2002 to the brand new 2009. So they have not redisgned this transmission. The expert ... auto dimming mirror

Anybody find an auto dimming rearview mirror w/compass included for the 2009 matrix? I have seen an article or two stating that the cars had it but the toyota dealership said they don't have it. I guess it was an option on the 2008 model, would it be the same one? also anyone get a trunk bike rack? Read More...

2009 Matrix or 2008 Civic or 2009 Corolla

Re: 2009 Matrix or 2008 Civic or 2009 Corolla [azr4el]

I'm trying to make the same decision myself. I have driven both, and a comparable Civic is $4,000 more than the Matrix that I am looking at. I find the Matrix is roomier, has a better driving position, and has more standard features than the Civic does. Also, you can add more options to the Matrix where as the Civic is pretty much purely package deals. I don't think ... Read More...
