In most instrumented tests the Vue gets the job done adequately. Red Line style offers substantial improvements in handling although its acceleration is about the same as XR styles. The base Vue's 2.4-liter engine and four-speed automatic transmission don't perform to class average. All Vues are well-mannered handlers.
Surprisingly nimble for a small SUV the Vue offers a good ride/handling compromise. Base styles are considerably softer than the Red Line version which is tuned for more spirited driving.
The Vue lacks the third-row seat offered by some of its competition, which isn't a big loss. We've found third-row seating in small SUVs to be of limited value anyway. There is less cargo room than in the other small SUVs but its creative use of moveable cargo netting enhances functionality.
Both interior and exterior design are a huge step up in quality from the previous Vue. So substanial are the quality gains that the Vue moves ahead of many competitors.
Family Friendly
The Vue is now a formidable contender in the world of family haulers.
Comfortable
Most Vue styles are tuned for comfort and a broad range of comfort features helps that cause.
Economical Transportation
With base styles starting under $21,000 the Vue is an inexpensive small SUV.
