Received a lease quote on a 09 TL base , 3 yr/36K at $479.00 mo + Tax with $1,000.00 due at signing. Will be meeting with a few dealers in the area to secure the MSRP, Residual and Money Factor to fine tune this quote. If they continue to stack up in their lots as with all car dealerships right now, the lease price may become acceptable.

Um...hello? snakeweasel?? I was satirizing the guys who come here to try to save smart owners from themselves. I thought my parody was pretty blatant, but maybe it did sound too much like priggly and others. Anyway, cheers.

Yes, I am so upset, as you are, about all the poor saps who are cajoled into buying the smart. It is a terriblly dangerous fad that is causing a great deal of pain and misery for anyone who buys one. Those who aren't prone to the giles and wiles of the awful smart car must keep up their dedication to sanity and safety and warn all those who are tricked by the little car. We must keep up our will to wipe out any thought that this car could work for anyone. We must stop at all costs any person who thinks this car meets their needs. It is dangerous! It is unbelievable to think that anyone should be allowed to drive one on our highways. Keep up the campaign!!! If we work diligently, everyone will buy a Versa instead, and all the world will be better off. Oh please, don't let anyone buy another smart! It is just too important. Monitor this site as if your life depended on it, and if anyone seems to think the smart might be something to consider, please, please, make them understand the error of their ways. Thank you and thank the Lord.
Re: Invoice price of 2009 Honda Pilot EX-L 4WD with RES + the running boards wi [scottband]
by citivas on Sat Nov 22 18:32:54 PST 2008
Scottband, I live near Princeton and got an '09 Touring 4WD w. RES in late August. I ended up using this site and several others to get internet quotes and that helped the dealers get way more competitive that they were being in-person. I ended up buying from Academy Honda in Old Bridge about a 30 minute drive) because they were much more copetitive. Though ironically after the purchase the Princeton dealership emailed me with a competitive counter quote but they were way too late and they should have just been competitive up-front when I was in for a test drive or when I first got their online quote... Good luck.
Re: Where can I buy a Smart Car? [priggly]

I have seen quite clearly that it is beyond you. You are blind to why people buy the car, and why the Aveo would likely not be cross-shopped with a smart. For many reasons, I prefer the smart to a motorcycle or scooter as transport. Its appeal (or novelty factor as you put it) is only part of the equation. It is small which is very appealing (park anywhere, no need to be carrying a back seat that is never used), gets good mileage, and has equipment usually only seen on expensive cars and not available at all on the Aveo. The Aveo blends in, the smart stands out. It is another choice, one which some people gravitate toward. It is polarizing. A smart buyer would likely not be intereste in an Aveo. To try to argue a smart buyer out of the purchase seems silly, when the whole basis of anti-smart thinking doesn't hold much weight to the smart buyer. If everyone weighed the same factors in a car purchase, we would have very few options within the various vehicle classes.
