If the key is reversible (aren't ALL car keys by now?), you might try just trying it upside down, or downside up.... or whatever. Same logic as Shifty's comment. :shades:

some aftermarket company back in the 70's that would take a Chevette and outfit it with a pretentious little grille, nip and tuck the rest of the sheetmetal here and there, and try to stuff in a leather interior and some other appointments that were supposed to give the illusion of a luxury car. I remember that one. I think it wa sposted in one of Fintail's eBay time posts on the Classic Cars forum. It was indeed ugly.

I hereby throw my vote for WORST car to the Smart, a car whose only real attribute is parkability, even though the clueless target market is people who think they're buying a high-MPG Polar Bear saver that they can self-righteously flaunt at the local food co-op. The Smart may have a "safety cell", but without a crumple zone, passengers may face the same fate as Dale Earnhardt Sr in a big crash. :surprise:

If one can excuse the Crown Vic & Grand Marquis, then I'd also excuse the Ranger. These may be waaaaaaay long in the tooth, with monstrous panel gaps and cheap vinyl interior, but in basic 4cyl, RWD, stickshift form, they are one of "The Last Honest Vehicles": easy to work on, cheap to fix, debugged of glaring faults, 25mpg efficient & cheap to insure, and most like the venerable Model T than anything else on the market. I adore the modern technology of direct injected turbos, AWD, 4WS, ESC, ABS, IRS, TCS, active steering, DSG, automatic sun visors, etc, etc, but want at least ONE vehicle I can fix with a crescent wrench and a jackknife :P

Sent me an email last week and he was very much alive. I hope he stays that way for a long time!
