CLS 550 Diamond White
I just ordered a new 2008 CLS 550 Diamond White edition and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. I saw my first CLS - the CLS500 - in Las Vegas several years ago, and was in awe with that style. I had never heard of that series, so I had to copy the model down, go back to the hotel and imediately look it up. Ever since that day, that has been the car of desire. I know many Mercedes ... Re: 2008 GL550 [abhiku]
Do someone knows what's the diff. in GL450 and GL550? like comparison link or something... As I understand it, the main differences are the engine, of course, and the options packages are all standard. As you know, Mercedes is notorious for expensive option packages and accessories that escalate the prices of its vehicles. If you took the GL450 and started equipping ... Read More...

Re: It's OK for us [scott1256]
Well I think they've already shaken off the build quality complaints with the newer models like the SLK, CLS and now the S-Class. ALl have much better interiors than before, and in the case of the CLS a real upgrade from the E-Class on which it is based. Though the E is hardly bad having improved greatly over the previous E. I'm guessing the SLK will pick up this month ... Read More...
Re: Feb 2006 Sales [wopel]
Well there a couple of Benz salespeople that chime in on the R-Class board from time to time that have hinted that a major re-shuffle of the R-Class' standard/optional equipment is on tap for the 2007 model year. This would be in repsonse to slow R-Class sales. Just a guess at this point. Yes I have read (Automobile Magazine) that a R320 CDI will show up here before ... Read More...
Re: Mercedes News [albell]
Well the way I see it all of their core models are either old (C,S) or middle aged (E), and that is where the volume will come from once these models are updated. The new S should turn things around, as should the facelifted E-Class. I see what you're saying, but I don't think it is anything to worry about, yet. Now if this new S does a R-Class type launch then we've got ... Read More...
Re: The House that Merc Built! [callmedrfill]
Ok, I'll bite. What's up with the 2.5L, 200HP C230? Why isn't it the C250? Are they trying to be like Lexus with a 2.5? Nothing to do with Lexus. The 2.5L V6 has been out in Europe since spring long before the IS250. I'm glad they didn't call it a "250" at this point to avoid confusion. I suspect that when the next C comes along it will be called the "C250" with a hp increase ... Read More...
Mercedes-Benz - The Future
An overview of the next 12 months: C-Class - Nothing but a long road ahead in the face of a new 3-Series and Lexus IS. New engines, all V6s will help maintain for 2006, but the 2007 model year will be a long one. Autoweek is reporting that AMG has built a few C63 AMGs, but I doubt we'll see the new AMG V8 in the current C-Class body. E-Class - A facelift for 2007. The E500 becomes ... Read More...
More Mercedes News
There are lot of upcoming variations of the CLK, C and E-Class coming in a few months. Not all of this translates to U.S. market cars, but the most intersting E-Class variant is the new E320 CDI with the new V6. For the first time Mercedes will be able to offer a 4Matic diesel...the E320 CDI 4Matic. This model will definitely make it to the U.S. There is also a new 314hp ... Read More...
Re: Good news for Mercedes fans... [scott1256]
Yeah I guess, though a 90 day survey really doesn't say much imo. To the survey worshipers this means absolutely nothing until Mercedes is #1, not only in this survey but in the 3-5 year ones also. Still though some improvement is better than none I guess. Hopefully there will be a corresponding improvement in the long term stats also. Thing is we have to wait until ... Read More...
