2008 Lexus GX 470 Road Test Ratings

The excellent build quality and a plush interior that would be expected of a Lexus.

The V8 engine provides adequate thrust once up to speed, but isn't stellar off-the line. Handling feels a bit top-heavy, so the GX is best driven at a moderate pace.

The ride is quite plush, as are the seats.

Most of the interior controls are logically placed and easy to use but the climate controls and DVD navigation utilize too many similarly-shaped buttons. The side-opening rear door hinges on the wrong side, blocking curb access.

Build quality is excellent but the design proportions look a bit top-heavy.
