Review

I have been very pleased with the reliability and performance of the car. I have had zero problems with the vehicle and have not had to return to the dealer for any issues (have performed all the maintenance myself). Acceleration and braking are all excellent. The sport suspension and tires provide excellent handling without compromising comfort too much. Interior is very quiet at speed, The exhaust note is good without being too loud. Stereo has good clarity and volume although not tremendous base. I have never averaged under 20 mpg in everyday driving and have gotten 27 mpg on all interstate driving. The trunk is smallish and the interior does not have a lot of storage. Tires wear quickly.

Favorite Features

Performance and handling. Nice stereo. Exterior styling and wheel design. Blue tooth. Interior design and execution. HID headlights. Push button starting. Excellent value for luxury vehicle.

Suggested Improvements

Clutch and throttle were difficult to master. Get rid of the CD changer in the trunk to provide more space. Trunk lid will drain water into trunk when opened if water is still standing on the lid. Needs different gearing for lower highway revving. Paint appears to be on the soft side.

Horrified by the poor tire wear! At 19,000 miles, my tires were completely bald. Infiniti says they normally replace them around 12-15K! Now I am at 24K, and the front insides are torn up and need to be replaced. That's right... only 5,000 miles on the tires. Said it was the alignment. I will be looking to trade this car in within the year. I can't afford to replaces tires twice a year, especially at the price our tires are!

Favorite Features

6MT is fun to drive. I like the orange stitching on the steering wheel, and the fine attention to detail.

Suggested Improvements

The gas mileage is not what the sticker said. At best I get 19 mpg highway, and I do not drive "spirited". Also, something needs to be done about the life of the tires and the braking system. It is very poorly designed. Not something I expected with an Infiniti. Would never purchase again!

Not too good in the rain

Review

Just having sold my G35 sport finds me missing this car, not at all. I truly believed this was a fantastic built and designed sports sedan. Having downscaled due to $ concerns, I don't really miss it especially when it rains, for (2) reasons. The HP is enormous and fast acceleration on a rain slick surface spins you out and secondly, after you park in your garage, notice all the water falling from the wheel well and gathering around each wheel. If you have a flat surfaced garage, expect to mop up 8 towels worth of water off the floor. Apparently, the trim panels collect the road splash and slow drip when parked. Add to that a look-alike Nissan styling for $10k less.

Favorite Features

Great sports ride. Nice sound system, beautiful wheels and handling, very comfortable seating.Standout design, except for near copy-cat 09 Maximas.

Suggested Improvements

Redesign the exterior trim and wheel well panels to prevent water build-up. Underway auto door lock, heftier rear door construction and trunk lid. Sport wheels to accept longer tread life tires, same size all around. Blue tooth command recognition is very bad. 06 G's were much better.

Coming up on first year anniversary. Have had none, zero, zip problems with this wonderful car. Which, to me, is pretty amazing. The voice-activated navigation system is terrific, though this is my first exposure to a navigation system, so I have nothing to compare it against. Early in my ownership (first 60days) I had occasion to use the four wheel drive during an ice/sleet/snow storm. It was a little nerve-wracking because I had just shelled out for the car and I would have rather been in my 14 year old suv but it handled as advertised and I was sold. Also, when you want to blow past traffic, the 306 hp (which I've never had before) is impressive.

Favorite Features

Interior, look, navigation, controls (very intuitive).

Review

After owning this car for 11 months, every time I get in it I'm reminded that this car is amazing. The handling is superb, the exterior of the lines gives it that sexy look, the interior is purely impressive. I have three complaints, the trunk is pretty small, I'm the only driver but when traveling one large suitcase and duffel bag and your packed. Gas mileage is definitely not impressive and I think it should have at least been an option to have integrated driving lights in the bottom grille. Other than those three I would buy this car all over again!

Favorite Features

Push button start, auto up windows, the subtle but ever present exhaust note, swivel headlights, ICC (Intelligent Cruise Control).

Suggested Improvements

Roomier trunk, improved gas mileage and integrated driving lights atleast as an option for the lower grille.

I have had my G35S for over a year now and I can honestly say that I still love this car. Great brakes, great performance, great style, great radio, just an all around great car!!! My only complaint is the gas mileage, it is not good at all. I know this car is a performance car, but I never expected 16 mpg or less for highway/local road travel.

Favorite Features

Brakes, radio, XM, seats, style, performance, sound of the engine, pickup in traffic.

Suggested Improvements

Gas mileage!!

Have had G since 10/07, a lot of little problems and some not so little. Speaker makes a "pop" noise when car engine turned on from battery on position; sunroof wouldn't stay closed, needed to have motor replaced; one of my windows wound not roll up via "one touch". Now the throttle when first started in the morning sounds as if car is going to die out. Apparently Infiniti has no fix for this yet, but there's a bulletin out on it. I also have performance tires & they're wearing out way to quick. Great looking & performing car but come close to warranty - trade in likely considered.

Favorite Features

Great looks and performance. Good brakes. Nice interior

Suggested Improvements

Fix throttle problem; better fuel economy; longer lasting performance tires;

I love my G. It's a great car and so much fun to drive. I feel safe when driving it and it's small so very convenient to get around in. All in all it's a great car just a few complaints.

Favorite Features

The nav of course, bluetooth, bucket seats in the back, the fact that it's almost impossible to lock the keys in the car.

Suggested Improvements

The tires are high performance tires and have to be replaced every 13-15 K miles, and they're not cheap. My tire pressure light comes on too much for my satisfaction. The expensive gas it takes is the only other complaint.

Review

I bought this car about 18 months ago after owning a G35 2003 coupe. This car is more practical, comfortable, and downright faster than the last car. Infiniti really got this one right! The perfect blend of sport and luxury. I can drive the family on a road trip in comfort, do the daily commute to work, and tear up the road when I get the urge.

Favorite Features

Endless power, especially in the midrange. Rosewood trim, all wheel drive, Refined interior, good sound system, great styling, bluetooth worth its weight in gold.

Suggested Improvements

I get some creaks and moans from the adjustable instrument cluster. Infiniti needs to work on tightening the interior.

Review

I bought my G35 11/06 and my driving experience has been pretty good. The bluetooth, paddle shifters and power are great. I have owned BMW and Lexus as well and clearly Infiniti provides a good value in this car.

Favorite Features

Handsfree, paddle shifters, bose sound system, engine performance. The car is like a rocket!

Suggested Improvements

Gas mileage, and be careful about accelerated tire wear. I found out the hard way when one of my tires blew out on the highway. When I complained to the dealer they decided to tell me the truth about the soft tires on this car. Average life for each tire is 25k. The tires are about $400 each.
