EDITORS' RATINGS OVERALL SCORE:

Overall

RATING

If getting noticed is your priority, the all-new Ford Shelby GT500 is bound to attract attention, even if it's not as quick or comfortable as some of its competitors.

DETAILED EDITORS' RATINGS

Dynamics

RATING

It's very quick in a straightline, but the heavy nose makes it tough to turn a corner or stop as confidently as the "lesser" Mustangs like the GT or Shelby GT.

Comfort

RATING

Fine for what it is, but it's bordering on Corvette money, and that car is much more comfortable.

Function

RATING

Everything from control layout to top functionality on the convertible model is quite good. Xenon headlights improve night driving.

Design/Build Quality

RATING

Interior is sub par at this price point. Getting the interior upgrade package helps a little, but you have to pay even more for it, so that's not helping the "cost-benefit" side of car's "quality" equation.

DETAILED PROFILE:

High Performer Very quick in a straightline.

Image Enhancer More likely to catch the eye than a typical Mustang.
