Oh Yeah, and how much will that Hyundai Elantra be worth in 3 years? LOL. The only Hyundais ever worth considering were the 03 and up Tiburon GTs. And once again, that is a different class of vehicle. The Elantra is number 8 on the top ten WORST residual values of 2006: Edmunds2006worstresiduals
Getting my xB this week
by firebox on Mon Feb 13 14:39:24 PST 2006
Hopefully things will turn out. Went to Toyota of Downtown Seattle and was told they could get any color in a week and a half (saw a white one that was already sold on the lot and I have to say, It looked pretty sharp), then after a half hour of filling out forms and talking accessories he comes back to me and say there's not a Red one in a five state radius to be had! What?! Black, White, or Silver, your choice. Hell with that. I had some time left in the day so I went out to Lake City Toyota and they said they had the Salsa one coming into Portland in a day! Plus Downtown Toyota wanted $500 bucks to hold one and Lake City only wanted $100. Granted LC is a bit far from my house but I think it's a no brainer. Though I'm tempted to call up Downtown T and see how much he would like to compete. Oh yeah, anybody get LED illumination system. should I invest in something else?

good experience, though i don't have the car yet
by mike117 on Thu Oct 13 07:07:41 PDT 2005
i bought mine from galaxy toyota/scion in eatontown nj and had a good experience overall. the first day i went in someone came to me while i was looking around (: ( at toyotas cuz they had no scions) and asked if i needed help, which i said i did. even when i told the dealer i was 19 and didn't have much of a credit history, but wanted to buy a scion, he was incredibly helpful. he explained pure pricing to me like this- scion sets a "menu' of prices and the dealers have to charge that. he also told me that for any other information could be garnered from the web site. he did a quick glimpse at my credit report and told me i would be able to finance a purchase without a co-signer. i wanted an xb but there was a 12 week wait, and the dealer told me that they would have 2 auto xas and 2 auto tcs in next week. i decided on the xa and then told him i wanted a day to think about everything, to which he was greatly receptive. i didn't have to commit to anything, sign anything, or pay for anything (even the credit check.) i called the next morning and told him that i changed my mind, i wanted to go with the tc in silver, and that i would be in at 5 with a down payment. so i got there, he went over the price with me, and it actually came out to be almost exactly what was on the website. i arugued that i really wanted the tc but the xa was much more affordable (based on the projected credit check) and i basically asked him if he could adjust the apr on the tc so that the total and payments would be equal to the xa. so he did my official credit check (which added $15 to the total, which isn't too bad for a credit check) and did it. i also refused to buy the car when i read that the deposit (in my case $2000) isn't refundable, after which he modified the contract and wrote refundable and initialed it. so i was very happy and satisified. then the only not so kosher thing occured... after i signed everything the time frame changed to "we expect it in next week, but it would be in by the end of october (roughly 3 weeks) at the latest." i forgot to mention as well- he didn't really ask me if i wanted any of the options or accesories. which i didn't plan on getting, but still, if he'd given me totals with and without i might have got some. and that kind of pissed me off. but we'll see what happens. overall it was a really easy and happy experience and i would def. buy another car from them when the time comes. now i just have to get the car and spend the next, oh, 5 or 6 years paying for it lol. btw- brand new 2006 tc, auto, standard features, classic metallic silver. i'll post updates when i have them!

i have seen a couple of those rear bumper pads on ebay for @ $45 to $50, check it out even if it is the same cheap quality you can save a few bucks. the "billet" grille is a custom made polished aluminum grille that replaces the plastic one that on your front end. gives it a cool custom look and removes the front emblem which leaves people wondering........what is it? there are about three different styles on there right now. stainless steel mesh, black powder coat mesh, and finally billet polished aluminum. billet is usually the most popular( it kind of looks like chrome). "billet" usually stands for "polished aluminum". just go to ebay and do a search for "xb grille" and you will see all of them under vehicle accessories. i also saw a guy on there who sales a custom chrome (bezel) ring for your speedometer, though i am not sure if it is worth $50 or not (do search for "xb speedometer" to find that) oh...and since the paint colors are such an issue, i think i will buy a white one! hope this info is helpful:shades:
