Re: Employee Pricing Lease Deal [sammin]

Hey sammin. I see that you are already aware of Ford's Employee Pricing offer. Ford is not offering any cash incentives on leases above and beyond this. Ford Credit's current base lease rate and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2009 Flex Limited AWD with 12,000 miles per year in its New York region are 3.25% and 51%, respectively. Hi stines. How many miles per year does your lease allow? The highest mileage allowance that Ford Credit offers is 19,500 miles per year. So you are likely way over your mileage limit. The only way for consumers who are way over their mileage limit to avoid having to pay a large excess mileage penalty is to buy their vehicle at lease-end. Used vehicle prices are falling at the most rapid pace that I have ever seen. Unfortunately, that means that your Edge's purchase option price is likely much higher than its current real world value. If I was in your position, I personally would place a call directly to Ford Credit a month or two before the scheduled end of my lease to see if they would be willing to negotiate my vehicle's end of term purchase price. When you call, don't mention that you are so far over your mileage limit. There's no guarantee that they will be willing to work with you, more often than not banks won't, but you don't have anything to lose by trying. It is zero deductible.... I thought it was a fair price. I am sure I didn't get the best price out of anyone who has purchased the same vehicle... But I wasn't trying to brag. I am not saying I got the best price or that I'm a super negotiator! This was a forum for prices paid and buying experience, so I posted mine. Also, I want my car salesman to make profit... I don't want the amount of profit to be outrageous, but he was great and very helpful and I feel that he deserves to make money at his job, just like everyone else. The vehicle is worth what we paid, plus some. Good luck.... And if you're still undecided, we truly love our new car, if that counts for anything! K

Forget the other stuff...You paid $41K for a Flex in this market??? I hope at least your extended warranty is zero deductable. Just seems a lot to spend for any Ford today.

Yes the engine, transmission, brakes, exhaust, power accessories.... the stuff that can go on any 7 year old used car. Any used car, (Ford, BMW, Honda etc) can be a problem. Some will argue the foreign nameplates are better but still a used car is a used car. Good luck --jjf thank you for your advice.....BTW...this Ford is not a problem is it? I am assuming regular maintenance...clear car fax...etc... anything else typically go on theses vehicles to watch out for?
