2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Road Test Ratings

An best in class truck in nearly every respect, the Chevrolet Silverado is a full-size truck with few faults.

Engines are strong, suspension delivers precise handling, brakes are touchy but strong.

One of the quietest trucks on the road. Seats don't look like much, but remain comfortable over the long haul. Rear seat passenger space is about average. Driving position is generally good, but the guages are sligthly offset from the driver's seat which can be annoying to some drivers.

Although there are two different dash designs, both have logical control layouts. Interior storage is about average for a full-size truck with the small glovebox the only drawback.

Exterior design is typical of a full size truck. Interior design of base models is also simple and straightforward. Top of the line dash is more like a luxury SUV. Panel fit on all trucks is excellent.
