When the Chevrolet S-10 Blazer compact SUV arrived in 1983, it pioneered a market segment that experienced explosive growth during the following decade. Based on the S-10 compact pickup and featuring squared-off, rugged good looks, the S-10 Blazer was initially available only in a two-door body style; it was later joined by a four-door model. A second-generation model, without the S-10 moniker, debuted for 1995.
