2007 Chevrolet Corvette Road Test Ratings

An American icon, the Corvette offers driving excitement at a more reasonable price than many of its competitors.

Lots of bang for not so many bucks. The engines are is the main story here, and handling and braking are up to the task. This is especially true of the 505-horsepower Z06, which offers world-class performance at half the cost of much of its competition. Base models offer a similar performance value, with 400 hp for less money.

Seat comfort and shape are OK, but they lack rigidity. Some models offer more comfortable ride than others.

This sports car provides a very useful trunk. Primary controls are laid out well, but there are too many buttons operating some secondary controls.

Despite a change to a controversial exposed headlight design, the shape seems too derivative. Inside, materials, and fit and finish issues, lag behind the competition.
