Fuel Economy

Overall

Audi's top-notch build quality and style come together to create this good-looking small wagon that's also fun to drive.

Dynamics

The A3 handles well enough on large-radius bends, but feels a bit heavy and sluggish in tight corners. Steering feel is OK in town, but feels a bit lighter than optimum in the twisties. Brakes are excellent.

Comfort

The ride is generally comfortable, with the notable exception of freeway hop in the 2.0-liter version. Road noise can be excessive.

Function

Small for a wagon, with tight rear seats and minimal cargo volume. The cockpit controls are generally good, with the HVAC the notable exception.

Design/Build Quality

A well-proportioned wagon, that is well built.

Daily Commuter May be a bit pricey for a daily commuter, but still a fun run about town.

Comfortable Comfort in a small package.

Cargo Hauler A small wagon with minimal cargo volume.

High Performer Available S-line version.
