More versatile than many of its competitors, the Acura MDX has several strong attributes. It's fun to drive, has a comfortable, well-appointed cabin, and can swallow plenty of cargo.

Handles better than the average truck-based SUV, with a torquey V6 powerplant.

The ride is well damped, without a lot of shake, but tire noise is noticeable. Most everyone will find a comfortable driving position.

Features and controls are well thought out and are easy to understand. With the 50/50 third-row seat, and 60/40 second-row seat folded flat it can carry more cargo than many crossovers.

The angular design is distinctive, and it is definitely well built.
